Number of passengers.

Fishing Junks should supply an Import

Manifest showing quantity and value of fish on board. The

Officer in charge of a Subsidiary Station should keep the Junk

Certificate of Registry until clearance is applied for by the

master, when, and before handing the Certificate of Registry

to the master, an export Manifest should be demanded showing

destination of Junk, cargo on board, number of packages with

their contents and weight after which the Junk may be allowed to

have her clearance.

The Officer should see that the Certificate of Registry has been duly endorsed by the Chinese Customs Station passed en route and he is to make the necessary endorse-

-ment on the Junk Pass Book when clearance is issued.

All Import and Export Manifests should be

sent in monthly to the Head Office with the Returns of arrivals

and departures of all Junks. In the case of a Junk having no

carge en baard either on coming or going from a station, Ballast

is to be noted against the Junk in the Returns sent in.

The same Registers kc., as recommended for

the Harbour Office on page of this report should be kept at

Subsidiary Stations.
